Why are there so many songs about rainbows,
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told, and some choose to believe it;
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection;
this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it,
It's something that I'm s'posed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection;
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
Why are there so many songs about rainbows?
That's part of what rainbows do.
Rainbows are memories, sweet dreams reminders.
All of us watching and wishing we'd find it.
I've noticed you're watching too.
Someday we'll find it, the Rainbow Connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and you.
Life's like a movie, write your own ending,
Keep believing, keep pretending
We've done just what we set out to do.
Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers and you.
andrea dear, you reminded me of this song :)
got me thinking anyway. our lives started out as clean slates of white light. unadulterated. in our innocence, life was all rosy hues but the spectrum of colours gradually took on darker and deaper meanings. we stopped filtering out the ugly colours. we lost the rainbows in our lives. somehow. so when we see a rainbow in the sky, we get so overwhelmed by its beauty because our lives have been swaddled in drabs for too long. and then the realisation hits home. dont wait for the rainbow to find you. create your rainbows! find that rainbow connection!
and i want my canvas to be a myriad of vivid strokes. once told someone give me a wall and i'll throw the different paint colours on it. why bother with organised painting when prim and proper is so boring. he said he'll have his family imprint their paint-stained hands and there'll be daddy's handprints, mummy's handprints, kiddo's handprints. how sweet :)
live believing
dreams are for weaving
wonders are waiting to start
weary and dreary london can get, i hope you are holding on to your little dreams still.
